A 40-Day Journey That Can Change Your Life

Are you going through tough times? Feeling stuck in life? Or just want peace, strength, and blessings? One powerful spiritual practice that can help is the 40-day Hanuman Chalisa Path.

In Hinduism, Lord Hanuman is known as the god of strength, courage, and protection. When you chant the Hanuman Chalisa every day with full faith and discipline for 40 days, it brings amazing changes in your life — mentally, emotionally, and even in your luck.

In this blog, you’ll learn everything about this practice: why it’s done, how to do it properly, what rules to follow, and what benefits you can expect.

What Is the 40-Day Hanuman Chalisa Path?

The 40-day Hanuman Chalisa Path means chanting the Hanuman Chalisa once (or more) every day for 40 continuous days without missing even one day. This is a powerful way to connect with Lord Hanuman and ask for his blessings.

Many people do this path when they are:

  • Facing problems in job or business
  • Dealing with court cases or enemies
  • Feeling fear, negativity, or health issues
  • Seeking peace, strength, or a spiritual connection

Why 40 Days?

In Hindu traditions, 40 days is a special number. It’s believed that doing any spiritual practice for 40 days builds discipline, cleans your energy, and creates strong positive results.

It’s like forming a new habit — if you stay consistent for 40 days, it becomes part of you. And in these 40 days, you slowly become stronger from the inside.

How to Start: Daily Routine and Preparation

Before starting the 40-day path, take a day to plan and prepare. Here’s what you need to do each day:

1. Wake Up Early

It’s best to chant during Brahma Muhurat (around 4 am to 6 am) or at sunset. Choose one time and follow it daily.

2. Take a Bath and Wear Clean Clothes

Always keep your body and mind clean before starting. Wear simple, clean clothes.

3. Create a Sacred Space

Pick a quiet corner in your home. Place a photo or idol of Lord Hanuman. Keep a diya (lamp), incense sticks, and red cloth.

4. Light a Diya

Use mustard oil in the lamp. Light it before you begin chanting.

5. Sit Facing East or North

These directions are considered positive for spiritual energy.

6. Chant with Full Focus

Sit calmly and chant slowly, clearly, and with full devotion. Don’t rush. Feel the meaning of every word.

Important Rules to Follow for 40 Days

To make this path successful, follow these rules strictly:

  • Do not skip any day. If you miss even one day, start again from Day 1.
  • Maintain celibacy (brahmacharya) — avoid sexual activity.
  • Eat only vegetarian food. Avoid onion, garlic, alcohol, tobacco, and outside food.
  • Avoid anger, lying, gossip, and negative thinking.
  • Speak less and speak kindly.
  • Stay away from bad habits and distractions.
  • Keep your space and body clean every day.
  • Offer boondi, jaggery, or red flowers after chanting.
  • Do not touch the book or photo with dirty hands.

This 40-day period is not just about chanting — it’s about living a clean, honest, and spiritual life.

What If You Travel or Fall Sick?

Try your best to continue the path. If you’re traveling, carry a small book or chant from your phone. If you’re sick, chant mentally or softly while lying down. But do not stop unless it’s completely impossible. Missing a day means starting over.

Why Hanuman Chalisa Is So Powerful

The Hanuman Chalisa is not just a poem — it’s full of spiritual energy and divine power. Each verse praises Lord Hanuman and helps remove problems from your life.

People who chant it regularly say they feel:

  • Less fear and more courage
  • Better focus and mental peace
  • Protection from evil and negative people
  • Support in legal and money issues
  • Strength to face any problem

It is believed that Lord Hanuman listens to every true devotee and comes to help when called with faith.

Stories of Real People

Many people have shared how their life changed after doing the 40-day Hanuman Chalisa Path:

  • A student passed a tough exam after failing 2 times earlier.
  • A man got a good job after 3 years of struggle.
  • A woman’s family court case was settled peacefully after 40 days of chanting.

These stories show that when you chant with full faith and follow the rules, miracles can happen.

Going Deeper: Advanced Chanting

If you want to go even deeper, you can chant more than once daily:

  • 1 time daily is enough for regular devotion.
  • 11 times daily for stronger results in health or personal life.
  • 21 times for court, career, or serious troubles.
  • 108 times is a deep spiritual path and may take 2+ hours daily.

Only choose a higher count if you have enough time and energy to maintain it for all 40 days.

Avoid These Mistakes

During this sacred path, make sure to avoid these common mistakes:

  • Skipping a day — breaks the spiritual flow.
  • Chanting in a hurry — no real benefit.
  • Being lazy or careless — shows disrespect.
  • Breaking celibacy or eating wrong foods — reduces energy.
  • Being angry or negative — blocks blessings.

The more sincere and clean you stay, the stronger your connection with Hanumanji becomes.

One Path, Endless Blessings

The 40-Day Hanuman Chalisa Path is not just about saying a prayer. It’s a promise you make to yourself — to stay focused, pure, and positive for 40 days.

And when you do this honestly, you will feel the change — in your thoughts, in your mood, in your luck, and in your life. Problems will start to solve. Peace will return. You will feel stronger from within.

So, take the first step. Start your 40-day journey with full devotion. Let Lord Hanuman take care of the rest.

Can you please tell me can i recite at anytime like in afternoon or specific timing? Someone said me dont recite in afternoon because shri hanuman ji also pray shri ram ji he get angry please tell

    1. admin says:

      YES. You can recite:

      Morning

      Afternoon

      Evening

      Night

Hanuman ji is Bajrangi, karuna-sagar (ocean of compassion). He blesses bhav (devotion), not the clock.

  2. Sreedevi says:

If I start 40days do I need to stop during menstrual days? Please advice…
    Thank you

    1. admin says:

During menstruation, it is advised not to touch the diya, idol, or the physical Hanuman Chalisa, as per traditional maryāda.

However, there is absolutely no restriction on reciting (verbally or mentally) or listening to Hanuman Chalisa during this period.

No one is restricted from nāma-smaraṇ, stuti, or bhakti at any time.

Shāstra clearly teaches that bhakti and shraddhā are beyond the body. Menstruation is a natural process and does not obstruct devotion.

So, the 40-day sankalp remains intact through:

      Mental chanting (manasik pāth)

      Listening with devotion

Resuming physical worship after the cycle

🌺 Bhav is primary, form is secondary.

      Jai Bajrang Bali 🙏

  3. Sanjna Gupta says:

From now onwards I’ll start hanuman chalisa but same question in my mind that , can I Read chalisha in evening time on my sitting table or worship place, pls suggest….

    1. admin says:

      Namaste Sanjna Ji,

Yes, you can recite Hanuman Chalisa in the evening. While a dedicated worship place is ideal, you may also recite it at your study table, work desk, or any clean and peaceful place where you can focus without disturbance.

The most important factors are devotion, concentration, and regularity in your practice.

May Lord Hanuman bless you with courage, wisdom, and protection. Jai Bajrang Bali.

  4. Naga Gowthami Vykuntham says:

Can I also do it for 11 days instead of chanting 21 times of Hanuman Chalisa at a time? Am I allowed to chant by splitting 11 and 10 times in the morning and evening in a day?

    1. admin says:

      Namaste,

Yes, if chanting Hanuman Chalisa 21 times at a stretch is difficult, you may divide the count into different sessions during the day, such as 11 times in the morning and 10 times in the evening.

Similarly, if you are taking a personal Sankalp of 11 days with sincerity and devotion, you may certainly do so. The spiritual benefit comes from faith, discipline, and consistency rather than only the duration or count.

May Lord Hanuman bless you with strength and success

  5. 9594184979 says:

Can I talk to my partner ?
    Like on the call.
We are in long distance relationship

    1. admin says:

      Namaste,

Yes, you can speak with your partner during the 40-day Hanuman Chalisa Sankalp. Normal communication, phone calls, and maintaining healthy relationships do not violate the Sankalp.

The main purpose of the Sankalp is to cultivate devotion, discipline, positive thoughts, and spiritual growth. Continue your prayers sincerely while maintaining respect and purity in your thoughts and actions.

      Jai Bajrang Bali

  6. Gayathri says:

When we have to start this 40 days prayer

    1. admin says:

      Namaste Gayathri Ji,

You can start the 40-day Hanuman Chalisa prayer on any day with sincere devotion. However, many devotees prefer to begin on a Tuesday or Saturday, as these days are especially associated with Lord Hanuman.

Once you take the Sankalp, try to continue the prayer daily for the full 40 days without interruption.

      Jai Hanuman

  7. Shashi Pal says:

Meri duty night hoti hai main security guard ki job krta hu na main shoes utaar sakta hu bus chair per baithe baithe main morning main 3.15 am pe Hanuman chalisa, hanuman ashtak,Bajrang baan, ayodhaya kaandh, ram ji ki stuti,or hanuman arti krta hu

    1. admin says:

      Namaste Shashi Ji,

Aapki bhakti aur niyamit sadhana prashansaniya hai. Yadi duty ke dauran paristhitiyon ke karan aap jute nahi utaar sakte, to isse aapki bhakti kam nahi hoti.

Bhagwan Hanuman bhakt ki shraddha aur samarpan ko dekhte hain. Aap rozana Hanuman Chalisa, Hanuman Ashtak, Bajrang Baan aur Aarti kar rahe hain, yeh bahut punya ka karya hai.

Yatha sambhav mann ko ekagr rakhein aur bhakti ko nirantar banaye rakhein. Jai Shri Ram, Jai Hanuman.

  8. M says:

What is the thought on increasing count everyday through the 40 day period

    1. admin says:

      Namaste,

Yes, you may gradually increase the number of Hanuman Chalisa recitations during your 40-day Sankalp if it is comfortable and sustainable for you. Many devotees start with 1 paath daily and increase the count as their devotion and discipline grow.

However, consistency is more important than quantity. It is better to recite a manageable number regularly for all 40 days than to take on a count that becomes difficult to maintain.

      Jai Bajrang Bali.

  9. Gadepalli sai Gayathri says:

When we can start I mean which day

    1. admin says:

      Namaste,

      Jai Shri Ram. Jai Hanuman

  10. Priyanka says:

I work in a place where I have to touch meat alcohol and cigarettes, during this sankalp we are not supposed to touch meat, where I cannot avoid touching meat at my work. Now in this case is it like breaking sankalp if I do so???

    1. admin says:

      Namaste Priyanka Ji,

      Aapka prashn bahut vyavaharik hai.

Yadi aapke kaam ki prakriti ke karan aapko meat, alcohol ya cigarette products ko handle karna padta hai aur aapke paas isse bachne ka koi vikalp nahi hai, to ise jaanbujhkar niyam bhang karna nahi mana jata.

Hanuman Chalisa Sankalp ka mool uddeshya man, vachan aur karm ki shuddhata, bhakti aur anushasan hai.

Aap apna kaam imaandari se karte hue:

Roz Hanuman Chalisa ka paath karein.
Sambhav ho to saatvik jeevan shaili apnayein.
Bhagwan Hanuman se apni paristhiti ke baare mein prarthana karein.

Bhagwan bhavana ko dekhte hain, majboori ko nahi. Jai Bajrang Bali.

  11. 12345 says:

So I have failed my exam previously and i have been told to start hanuman chalisa as well so I am beginer as i am so can i listen and what time is prefered will listeng aslo have same effect .

    1. admin says:

      Namaste,

Sabse pehle himmat mat haariye. Har asafalta humein kuch naya sikhati hai.

Hanuman Chalisa ka paath shuru karne ke liye kisi vishesh anubhav ki zarurat nahi hoti. Aap beginner hote hue bhi iska paath kar sakte hain.

✅ Subah Brahma Muhurat ya suryoday ke baad ka samay uttam mana jata hai.
✅ Shaam ko bhi paath kar sakte hain.
✅ Agar paath karna mushkil ho to Hanuman Chalisa ko dhyan se sunna bhi laabhdayak mana jata hai.

Haan, swayam paath karna adhik uttam mana jata hai, lekin shraddha ke saath sunna bhi punya pradan karta hai.

Bhagwan Hanuman aapko safalta aur atmavishwas pradan karein.

  12. Kamal says:

Can you still eat vegetarian food if it has onion and garlic ? What about non veg? I only eat it 2-3 times a week.

    1. admin says:

      Namaste Kamal Ji,

Traditional 40-day Hanuman Chalisa Sankalp ke dauran saatvik bhojan ka palan karne ki salah di jaati hai. Ismein aam taur par onion, garlic aur non-vegetarian food se parhez kiya jata hai.

Lekin agar kisi vyakti ke liye poori tarah se in cheezon se bachna sambhav na ho, to bhi ve Hanuman Chalisa ka paath shraddha aur niyamitata ke saath kar sakte hain. Bhagwan Hanuman bhakt ki bhavana aur samarpan ko sabse adhik mahatva dete hain.

      Jai Bajrang Bali.

  13. Amarpal singh says:

Kasa pada Hanuman chalice kya Neyam ha

    1. admin says:

      Namaste Amarpal Ji,

40 Day Hanuman Chalisa Sankalp ke mukhya niyam hain:

✅ Roz ek hi samay par Hanuman Chalisa ka paath karein.
      ✅ Saatvik bhojan grahan karein.
✅ Nasha, maansahaar aur jhooth se bachne ka prayas karein.
✅ Brahmacharya aur man ki shuddhata banaye rakhein.
✅ Sankalp poore 40 din tak bina break ke karein.

Bhakti mein niyam se adhik mahatva shraddha aur nishtha ka hota hai. Jai Shri Ram, Jai Hanuman.
