Khatu Shyam

Khatu Shyam is considered the Kalyug incarnation of Lord Shri Krishna. A mythological story explains this belief. His grand temple is in Sikar district, Rajasthan, where thousands of devotees visit each year. It is believed that Baba Shyam fulfills all wishes and can turn the poorest into the richest. Khatu Shyam Ji is worshiped in the grand temple of Khatu, Rajasthan. Lord Krishna blessed Khatu Shyam Ji to be worshiped by the name “Shyam” in Kalyug. Such is the devotion toward Khatu Shyam Ji that devotees walk miles to reach Khatu Nagari. Lord Khatu Naresh showers special blessings on his devotees. A mere darshan (glimpse) of Khatu Shyam Ji with a true heart removes all sorrows. Those who cannot visit the temple in person can also seek his blessings from home.

Who is Khatu Shyam Ji?

Khatu Shyam Ji’s origins date back to the Mahabharata era. He was the grandson of Pandava Bhima, known as Barbarik. It is believed that Lord Krishna, impressed by Barbarik’s immense power and devotion, blessed him to be worshiped in Kalyug under the name “Shyam.” The Lord is more pleased by devotion and faith than by elaborate rituals and offerings. Thus, true devotion and unwavering faith are key to receiving his blessings.
